Typical Dedicated Broadband Service
Prices
An Overview of Dedicated Broadband
Business Services Pricing:
Billing for dedicated broadband services usually consists of
a "loop" charge
(the connection between you location and the network) and charges
associated with the service carried. The follow are brief descriptions
of how dedicated broadband business services are priced:
- Dedicated Voice Services Pricing: All the usual
voice services (Local, Interstate, Intrastate, International, and Toll Free) are
available at usage rates 30% to 50% less than traditional switched services. This
savings is somewhat offset by the loop cost which averages $500 per month. Many PBXs
and electronic key systems are already equipped to accept a T-1, if you do need to
purchase a T1 interface card it will cost ~ $300. If your business uses 50,000 minutes
of service per month and your communication expenses are in the range of $2500 per
month or more you should explore this service.
- Dedicated Broadband Internet Access: The
cost of a broadband T1 connection will be ~$500 per month
if your business is in a city. It could be $700 per month
or more if your business is in a suburban or rural area. One-time
installation charges run from $500 to more than $1000 depending
upon the work and equipment required.
- Integrated Broadband and Long
Distance Service: Pricing
varies by capacity and features and services provided. Savings
of 30% to 50% of the cost of the sum of the individual services
are not unusual.
- Private Lines: Pricing varies by distance and
capacity. Full T1s connecting locations within a city will cost between $350 and $700
per month. One-time installation charges run from $500 to more than $1000 depending
upon the work and equipment required.
- Frame Relay: Frame relay end points cost from
$150 to $800 per month depending upon capacity and service level commitments. One-time
installation charges run from $500 to more than $1000 depending upon the work and
equipment required.
